TSANZ Career Development, Immersion and Learning Grants
The TSANZ Career Development, Immersion and Learning Grants are designed to provide financial support to eligible TSANZ members, offering the opportunity to gain new experience and skills relevant to donation and transplantation and/or clinical or basic science research with the goal of advancing local expertise.
Eligibility:
MUST be a financial member of the Society of 12 months standing from the date of approval of membership to the Society to the date of application (including full member concession and student members) inclusive of medical, nursing, laboratory, scientific and allied health
Priority will be given to those who have not received previous financial support from TSANZ.
Award criteria:
Proposals should involve a period of travel to a national or international clinical or research institution for a specific defined purpose, these may include:-
- Learning a new clinical skill or technique related to donation or transplantation
- Learning a new scientific or laboratory technique related to donation or transplantation
- Collaborating on a specific research project related to donation or transplantation
Proposals should include:
Description of skill, technique, experience or project that will be the focus of travel
Details of the hosting institution with evidence of expertise in specific technique or area
Letter of support from the hosting institution in accepting the candidate
Letter of approval to travel from the member’s direct supervisor/line manager
Proposed period of travel and approximate dates of travel
Description of how the proposed immersion experience will benefit local institutions
A breakdown of how the funds will be spent, this may include travel costs, accommodation, per diem, equipment that will be used during travel or on return to home centre. (Other expenses will be considered with appropriate justification).
Prize details:
2 rounds of grants with $10,000 total to be awarded for each round.
4 x $5,000 cash grants
When there are multiple applicants, preference will be given to applicants who have not received prior funding from TSANZ
Dates for the first round of application submissions: February 19 to March 30, 2026
